From childhood prodigy to software development leader and entrepreneur, Artem Gurtovoi’s journey is nothing short of inspiring.
Artem Gurtovoi, a tech industry guru and co-founder of Match&Catch, has been making waves in the information technology world since an early age. Born in 1982, Artem’s interest in technology was evident from the start. As a child, he consistently won Olympiads and engaged in various IT projects, showcasing a knack for innovation and problem-solving.
After completing his studies in Computer Science at the prestigious Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Technical University), Artem embarked on an impressive career spanning over 20 years in the information technology field. He transitioned from full-stack developer to CTO and product owner roles, gaining invaluable experience along the way.
Artem’s professional journey includes a series of diverse and challenging roles. He began his career as a Web Developer at Dialog-K, an Internet and IP-telephony provider, where he worked from 2001 to 2006. During his tenure at Dialog-K, Artem gained experience in developing and managing websites, and honed his skills in web development.
Artem co-founded JSC in 2006. There he served as a Full-stack Developer and managed digital ads until 2010. During this time, Artem was responsible for developing websites from start to finish, working on both the front-end and back-end. Additionally, he managed digital advertising campaigns, gaining valuable experience in advertising and marketing.
In 2010, Artem joined Social Discovery Ventures as a Senior Front-End Web Developer. During his three-year tenure, Artem worked on various web development projects and had the opportunity to work on high-traffic websites, gaining experience in scaling web applications for large audiences.
Shortly Artem was promoted to the role of Head of Web Development Group at Social Discovery Ventures. In this role, Artem was responsible for overseeing the web development team, ensuring the timely delivery of quality web applications, and working closely with stakeholders to ensure their needs were met.
Later that same year, Artem was promoted to the Head of Software Development at Social Discovery Ventures. In this role, he was responsible for leading the software development team, overseeing the development and delivery of all software products, and working closely with other departments to ensure the alignment of business and technology goals.
Throughout his career, Artem has managed mature legacy products with hundreds of millions in revenue and department budgets in the millions. He has also led compact and highly effective startup development teams, guiding them from inception to positive economics. For Artem, building reliable geo-distributed internet services alongside international talent has been both his passion and forte.
Eventually, Artem’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found Match&Catch in 2020. The company, an innovative platform that matches job seekers and employers, has been growing steadily and gaining recognition in the tech industry.
In addition to his work at Match&Catch, Artem has developed an interest in investments, particularly in liquid assets. He believes that a portion of one’s earnings should be invested to ensure financial stability and growth.
